This YALC felt pretty overwhelming (in a good way). I remember the first time I’d gone to YALC only two years previously, wondering if I’d ever be a published author or able to take part in a panel. This year, I was involved in something every day of the festival and I felt like I had to pinch myself.
First, I was on a super fun panel alongside Annalie Grainger and Chloe Coles, chaired by Beth Garrod, and ran a ‘funny writing’ workshop. I was also helping to run the Agents’ Arena, where we gave aspiring authors advice about all aspects of the submissions process and insights into the industry. It was an intense weekend and by the end I felt like I needed to sleep for a full day, but definitely worth it!
