The Riff Raff

The Riff Raff

This Autumn I had the chance to meet the fabulous Amy and Rosy of The Riff Raff (and if you haven’t checked them out yet, do! They’re at https://www.the-riffraff.com/) They run a London based writers community supporting and championing debut authors. I joined one of their […]

Deptcon 2017

Deptcon 2017

I had the chance to spend a couple of days in Ireland recently as part of Deptcon 2017. The trip was so much fun – I was part of a panel with my editor, Anna Baggaley, and the fab N.D.Gomes (author of Blackbird) and Cally […]

Some Local Events

Some Local Events

In the month following publication, I got involved in some local events which was super fun. As part of the Wanstead Fringe, I chatted to teens at my local Oxfam about the writing process and how to get published. I also joined the lovely Newham Book Shop folk on their stall at Winchelsea Market in the Wanstead Tap, to sign books. It’s been so lovely to chat to other book lovers in my area and realise how much support there is in the local community – I would definitely recommend all authors get involved in their own local events!

Road Trip

Road Trip

Just after publication, I took a few days off with my Mum and we went on a trip around some places I’ve never been before in the UK (Reading, Bath, Cheltenham). On the way we stopped into various Waterstones and signed copies. It was so […]

Launch Party

Launch Party

The day before publication I had my launch party at the fantastic Waterstones Piccadilly. Despite the weather tipping it down with rain and feeling nervous all day about having to do ‘public speaking,’ once I got there I had a perfect evening. It was busy and I barely had time to spend more than a minute or two with each person, sometimes less, but it was so wonderful to have friends, family and colleagues from all parts of my life come together to celebrate.

Also, free wine.

Special thanks to Lauren Gardner for the giant box of Chewits you can see me opening below, which I’ll probably still be working through by Christmas.

Summer Cringefest

Summer Cringefest

This summer I had the pleasure (and sometimes pain, depending on what we were sharing) of joining the fab Beth Garrod, Simon James Green and Stephanie Kate Strohm on their cringeworthy book tour. I’m a big fan of all these fellow authors and it was so […]

YALC 2017

YALC 2017

This year was my first year at YALC as an author, which was so exciting! Early copies of Editing Emma went on sale and I got to sign copies for the first time ever. It was very strange, but wonderful, watching her go off into […]
